President Pedro J Perez-Medrano
(Pete Perez)
Pedro J (Pete) Perez-Medrano was born in Miami, FL in 1979. He was
raised in West New York, NJ until the age of thirteen when he returned
to South Florida. An accomplished student, leader, and athlete, he
attended Christopher Columbus High School and later went on to receive
Business Administration Bachelors in Management and Entrepreneurship
from Florida International University.
It is with a certain East Coast style that Pete Perez-Medrano has
managed to propel a small travel company into one of the leading travel
management companies in the US. He has instilled an unprecedented
level of service and excellence into the staff and has made Famitours
clients the number one responsibility. Since his taking over of the
company in 1999, he has reorganized Famitours into Famitours Travel
Group, a group of innovative marketing, sales, operational, and technological
ideas that offer a different approach to servicing business and leisure
travelers.
Pete Perez-Medrano has earned enormous respect in his industry through
his persistent, ethical, ambitious, and caring work both in his industry
and in his community. Actively participating in programs such as "Habitat
for Humanity" and "Camilus House", he has taken a leadership
role in his community and has expressed the responsibility that he
feels for all sectors of the community. Having served on boards such
as YLMD (Young Leaders Making a Difference) he said the following:
“There is no greater gift a man can give than his time, hard
work, sweat, and tears to help his fellow man”. He went on to
say "Community leadership isn’t writing a check to an organization.
It is a commitment that business leaders should provide through exemplary
leadership. Where one man leads others will follow."
While many corporate leaders believe in zero direct involvement in
operations, Pete Perez believes in a more hands-on approach of delegating
work. "Leading by example is key in our company," Perez
says. "Empty delegation of duty is not permitted. We get things
done!" He went on to say. Perez is energizing an industry with
new ideas from new blood and "day by day" is developing
a travel company of strength, reliability, and service unmatched by
anyone.
